T20 World Cup 2022: England beat Pakistan

T20 World Cup 2022: England beat Pakistan in a nail-biter clash to lift ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy.

England on Sunday defeated Pakistan in a nail-biter clash to lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 trophy.

Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, and Adil Rashid delivered stunning spells to restrict Pakistan to 137/8 in the final match.

Curran delivered a crisp spell and bagged three wickets while Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid took two wickets each. Shan Masood scored the highest number of runs for Pakistan with 38 while skipper Babar Azam scored 32.

Put to bat first, openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan opened Pakistan’s tally in the first inning by bagging 8 runs in the very first over of all-rounder Ben Stokes. Stokes delivered a no-ball on the very first delivery of the innings as the all-rounder swung it away and Rizwan covered for it as he defended to mid-off.
Azam and Rizwan got off to a cautious start. In the 5th over of the innings, Sam Curran gave his team a big breakthrough as he bowled out Rizwan for 15 off 14. England bowlers delivered e will be the happier side after the powerplay – Pakistan kept to 39/1 from six overs

Mohammad Haris then came out to bat and join hands with skipper Babar. Adil Rashid stuck in his very first over as he sent Haris packing after scoring 8 off 12. Then the left-handed batter Shan Masood came out to bat.

England bowlers kept Pakistan under control as they conceded just 68 runs while bagging two wickets in 10 overs. In the 11th over of the innings, Rashid stuck again as he dismissed well-set batter Babar Azam for 32 off 28 and he delivered a maiden over.

Stokes was brought back into the attack and the bowler showed everyone what he is known for as he sent Iftikhar Ahmed packing for a 6-ball duck. At that point, Pakistan’s score read 85/4. Shadab Khan then came out to bat and the batter slammed a stunning six off of Rashid’s delivery in the 14th over.

After 15 overs of the play, Pakistan’s score read 106 with a four-wicket loss. Shadab and Masood opened their hands and slammed Stokes for 13 runs in the 16th over.

Sam Curran then gave Pakistan another blow as he departed well-set aggressive batter Masood for 38 runs off 28 balls. In the 17th over Chris Jordan then joined the paty and dismissed Shadab for where Woakes takes the simplest of catches. Jordan’s short ball got a good bounce off the surface and all Shadab could do it to hit the ball into the hands of Chris Woakes at mid-off. Shadab went back into the Pavillion after scoring 20 off 14 balls.

Curran again rattled Pakistan’s batting order as he dismissed Mohammad Nawaz, who scored just 5 runs off 7 balls. A fuller ball from Curran made Nawaz hit it over the deep mid-wicket fielder but failed to do so as the batter was caught by Livingstone.

In the penultimate, over of the innings, Jordan dismissed Mohammad Wasim Jr for 4 off 8 deliveries to help England restrict Pakistan to 137/8 in 20 over-match.

INDIA VS ENGLAND

T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal INDIA VS ENGLAND

T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal preview between India and England: live streaming, weather, pitch report, and more.

Synopsis: The fantasy World Cup final between India and Pakistan will take place on November 10 if India defeats England in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2022, precisely like it did in 2007.

Following a win against Zimbabwe on 6 November, India not only finished as the top team in its group but made a swift entry into the semi-final against England in the 2022 T20I World Cup. The match will be played in Adelaide Oval on 10 November, where the conditions have not been too favorable for the Indian team.

Last time on 2 November, during the match with Bangladesh, despite a good score on the cards, raines played a spoilsport and India just managed to win the match by just 5 runs.

With Pakistan already securing its seat in the finals after defeating the Kiwis at Sydney Cricket Ground by 7 wickets, the tournament has become more interesting. Also, if India beats England on 10 November, it will be a dream World Cup final match between India and Pakistan, just like in 2007.

India has already defeated Pakistan in the Super 12 match, by four wickets on 23 October. This time, Pakistan seems well prepared and in absolute momentum.

However, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has some good news to share. India’s opening batsmen KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav are in form, while key bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohd Shami do look to manage any conditions.

Before speaking more about India vs Pakistan match, let’s look at how both India and England teams are trying to stabilize the pendulum towards their side.

England: Looking at the English side Captain Jos Buttler and Alex Hales have been the source of most of the runs for the team, as both have hit a fifty each.

A bowling attack by pacers Mark Wood and Sam Curran can promise a tough start for Indian batters. But the fielding seems to be an issue for the English side.

India: For India, the return of opener KL Rahul’s form has been a boon. Plus Virat Kohli’s consistent powerful knocks have been a key changer. Suryakumar Yadav has been phenomenal with his ferocious batting and Arshdeep Singh has shown some promising spells. Also, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohd Shami did their job too.

Considering India’s cons are its fielding and middle-order bowling. Its spinners have not been that effective, though have managed to take wickets. However, their economy have been expensive. So, there seems to be a concern.

Weather condition:

According to experts, the weather in Adelaide Oval will be partly cloudy in Adelaide on Thursday, however, with no chances of rain, there will be a full game without any disruption. The temperatures will hover between 22° C to 13° C.

itch report:

The pitch in Adelaide Oval has been bouncy and the is good for batting the short square boundaries will tempt the hitters to go big. Despite bouncy pitches, spinners will also get favours.

India vs England (Head to Head):

Altogether, India has played 22 matches with England in the T20 World Cup till now, out of which India won 12 and England 10.

Possible XIs:

India possible XI:

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik/Rishabh Pant (wk), Axar Patel/Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh

India Fifa World cup

How many times India qualified for the Fifa World Cup

Since India’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup have been up for question over the past few decades, the Indian football team has never taken part in the FIFA World Cup.

Indian football has had its ups and downs over the years, but it hasn’t represented the nation on the bigger football scene since it appears to be far behind its rivals.

The Indian Super League and I-league have succeeded in raising the standard of football in the country, but the hierarchy has had trouble putting the proper players together. All Indian players have access to proper training, and in recent years, the administration has also organized some games against opponents with higher rankings.

Every time India faced challenging opponents in the World Cup qualifying matches, they came away empty-handed. Despite these challenges, India must persevere because it is impossible to locate eleven or so players in a nation of a billion people.

India has qualified for the World Cup how many times? Let’s investigate.

Indian football squad in World Cup Qualifiers: Number of Times India Qualified

Year Qualification Scenario
1950 Qualified
1986 Didn’t Qualify
1990
1994 Didn’t Qualify
1998 Didn’t Qualify
2002 First Round Qualifier
2006 Second Round Qualifier
2010 First Round Qualifier
2014 Second Round Qualifier
2018 Second Round Qualifier
2022 Second Round Qualifier

The Indian football team did succeed in qualifying for the 1950 World Cup because the other three teams—Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines—decided to drop out, giving India the opportunity to participate in the tournament.

However, due to financial constraints, the All India Football Federation was unable to send the Blue Tigers to Brazil. Despite being one of the most prominent sides at the time, India has been inconsistent in World Cup qualifiers. Another issue appeared to be that the Indian players used to play barefoot football, which FIFA would not have permitted if they did not have proper kits and boots.

The Indian team dominated Asia, winning gold at the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962, but they were defeated in the final of the AFC Asian Cup by Israel. Indian football fans have been denied World Cup action, but with the emphasis solely on developing the structure and players, the opportunity may arise very soon.

The Indian football team qualified for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, but they were unable to overcome the obstacles and had to settle for second place, just behind Indonesia. The men in blue did not compete in the 1990 World Cup qualifiers, but they did return for the 1994 World Cup qualifiers.

The Indian team’s performance was disappointing, as they were pitted against Bahrain, South Korea, Lebanon, and Hong Kong. With the exception of a victory over Hong Kong, they failed to demonstrate any intent in the qualification campaigns.

The Blue Tigers faced Qatar, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines in the qualifying round of the 1998 World Cup, and the outcome was similar in that they couldn’t get past these sides, and India finished third.

The World Cup was held in Asia in 2002, with Japan and South Korea hosting the event jointly. India finished third in that group, competing against Brunei, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates, and failed to qualify for the World Cup finals for the second time.

In 2006, India was given a chance in the second round of qualifiers because they were joined by Japan, Oman, and Singapore, but they again finished third and were eliminated from the competition.

In the 2010 Fifa World Cup, a new seeding rule was implemented, and the Indian national football team had to defeat Lebanon in the first round of World Cup qualifiers. However, the Indian team was thrashed 6-3, and the Blue Tigers were unable to grind it out once more.

They faced United Arab Emirates in the second round of qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and had a difficult time on the pitch as they failed to make it count. They were defeated 5-2 on aggregate in the two-leg match, and another opportunity for qualification was lost.

The Indian team defeated Nepal in the first round of qualifying in 2018 to advance to the second round. They were grouped with Oman, Guam, Iran, and Turkmenistan, and they only managed one win against Guam, failing to live up to their potential.
