New Zealand narrowly defeated Ireland in the third and final ODI on Friday to win the series 3-0. The Dublin game was a thrilling one that kept spectators guessing right up until the final ball. Despite the fact that 719 runs were scored total, the two teams were only separated by one run after 100 overs. From Curtis Campher’s spectacular run-out to Blair Tickner’s dramatic final over, the game entertained the crowd in spades.

Tom Latham scored 30 runs off of 26 balls before being dismissed by Curtis Campher. In his inning, he hit three fours and a six.

360/6 was the first inning’s total for New Zealand. Henry Nicholls and Martin Guptill both scored 79 runs to help the side win. Joshua Little only managed to secure two wickets in his allotted 10 overs while giving up 8.4 runs per over.

In response, Ireland was held to 359/9 in their allotted 50 overs despite centuries from Paul Stirling (120) and Harry Tector (108). While Matt Henry returned 4/68, Mitchell Santner chose 3 for 71.

On Monday, the second of a three-match T20I series between New Zealand and Ireland will begin.
