In a last-ball IPL drama in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by two runs. Quinton de Kock also scored a magnificent century and had a record opening stand with skipper K L Rahul. De Kock smashed an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls to lead LSG to 210 for no loss, the best opening stand in IPL history, with Rahul (68 not out off 51). Nitish Rana (42) and captain Shreyas Iyer (50) kept KKR in the game, but it was too much for the bottom order to overcome. They reduce to 208 for eight in 20 overs.

Just as it appeared that KKR were out, Sunil Narine (21 not out off 15 balls) and Rinku Singh (40 off 15 balls) began pounding the LSG bowlers over the wicket.

KKR required 38 runs from the last two overs, which they reduced to 21 in the penultimate over.

Rinku struck two sixes and a four in the last three balls to get LSG back into the game, but he was caught by Evin Lewis with a sensational one-handed grab.
