Dinesh Karthik will play for India for the first time in three years.
When India takes on South Africa in the first of five T20 Internationals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi later on Thursday, Dinesh Karthik will make his first appearance for India since 2019. After an outstanding Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he shined as a finisher, Dinesh Karthik was named for the squad. As a result of his ability in a specific phase of the game, he has made a comeback. “Over the last two or three years, Dinesh Karthik has been able to make a point of difference for whatever team he has played against in the back-end of the game,” India’s head coach Rahul Dravid said of the 37-year-old.
