Neeraj Chopra expressed happiness with his achievement after breaking a new national record.

It was Neeraj’s first competition following his historic gold medal triumph at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Due to his competition-record throw, Neeraj finished in second place. Oliver Helander, a local favorite, won the event with a throw of 89.83 meters.
“I’m pleased with how I performed. It was my first event of the year, so I’m happy to have started the season off well. My confidence has substantially risen as a result of my performance here.” Neeraj reacted when asked about his performance.

In Patiala in March of last year, Neeraj set the previous national record with a time of 88.07m. After Abhinav Bindra, he is the only other athlete from India to have won an individual gold medal in the Summer Games.
In his first and second attempts, Neeraj’s spear reached 86.92 meters and 89.30 meters, respectively. The 24-year-next old’s three attempts were all fouls. In his final and sixth throw, he threw his spear at 85.85 meters.
With a throw of 86.60 meters, Anderson Peters, the reigning world champion, finished third. The Paavo Nurmi Games, a gold event on the World Athletics Continental Tour, is one of the biggest track and field championships outside the Diamond League.
